About Yagotcha!

February 6th, 2009

John MaclayMy name is John Maclay and I’m currently part of a very cool company of my own creation called Yagotcha! Marketing. Founded with the intent of supplying marketing and design assistance to small industrial firms, I soon found that we had something more to offer. Not long after company inception, the financial crisis of 2008 hit our nation and soon after, the world. Yagotcha! found itself, as a start up, in the same quandary as many of you: How to stay solvent in this economic turmoil?

My career history started as a US Marine, where I learned to be objective oriented instead of task oriented, (or as my wife calls me: ‘a damner of torpedoes’). To lose is  just not good enough, and as far as I’m concerned, that philosophy is my most valuable asset. After college, where I studied business and psychology, I’ve applied my skills to  many aspects of the manufacturing process, from shop floor to national sales–even a manufacturing startup. I understand the processes and what it takes for a manufacturer laden with startup debt to turn the corner from red to black. The most important lesson that I learned was the value of marketing-or maybe the lack of it.

Without a marketing support program, your sales people are only as good as their own skills and personalities in gathering sales for your company. Every company has its own identity, its own brand presence. It starts from the owner and is mirrored and enhanced by its management, employees and customers. Why keep that support from your grunts on the street? Hiding your marketing support facilitates an ever changing personality to your customer should your sales staff turn over. A soldier needs air support to succeed in occupying a territory–so does a sales person.

That’s who I am and that’s what we do. We’re the marketing people that companies can’t afford to put on their payroll–and can’t afford to live with out in these tough economic times. We help you stay connected to your customers. I have assembled a network of printers, graphic & web designers, video gurus, social media marketers and just plain smart people. Together, we can help you to not only stay on the map, but to own it.
